Overall 17.5” x 20.5”. This piece is from the Robert Raley estate, Baltimore architect, purchased by Raley at Sotheby’s in 1965. A certificate of authenticity was issued to Spanierman Gallery in 1997 by Wanda de Guébriant. Georges Matisse, the current authority and Matisse’s great-grandson, has confirmed its authenticity in 2020. Restored in 1991 by Anne Clapp, Wilmington, D.E. to treat stains. IMPORTANT: we do not currently have the certificate of authenticity in hand, but we have Georges Matisse confirming via email that it is authentic. Condition: some light browning to edges.
