TWO LATE 19TH C. CANES: SWORD AND SPEAR. The sword cane with figural carved horn beaver head grip containing carved bone teeth and applied bead eyes, over a silvered ferrule with fox head and black painted sheath/cane shaft, 35 1/4” H. The spear cane with polished bone knob and articulated brass flip cover concealing the spear over a rosewood shaft, 35” H, including spear 38 3/4” H (spear length 3 3/4”).   Condition: Both in good/very good condition. The sword cane with a chip to the painted black shaft below the silvered ferrule, the carved beaver head grip with some minor hairline cracks, light tarnishing to the silvered ferrule and general tarnishing and rust to the steel blade. Note that the sword is slightly tight within its sheath. Spear cane in good condition, the metal spear with light rust, nickel ferrule loose, some cracks to the bone knob.
