Eero Saarinen (Finnish/American, 1910 - 1961). Set of Four Tulip Dining Chairs, designed for Knoll, circa 1951. Cast Aluminum, Fiberglass, Laminate, Vinyl. Special order yellow color for commercial use with early Knoll 575 Madison Ave label on base. Total height 32", seat height 19". Condition: In general used condition. Some scuffs to the seat backs and nicks to the underside of the rolled crest lip. Of the chair bases: two with complete loss of finish, one with a reinforced taped edge, the last with a small two-inch crack near the rim. Note that two of the chairs swivel, while the other two do not. All fitted with later weather resistant cushions in very good condition.
