WILLIAM SLAUGHTER, LATE 20TH C., O/C, TEXAS BLUE BONNETS. Signed “W.A. Slaughter” l.r., 24" x 36", frame 33” x 45”. William Slaughter (1923-2003) was a Lutheran pastor and WWII United States Air Force veteran, who, upon his travels with the ministry in Texas and Mexico, began his career as a prodigious self-taught painter, depicting a wide-range of western subjects. Texas blue bonnets is perhaps his most popular subject matter, exhibiting the artist’s meticulous process and innate ability to create highly vibrant and dimensional realist landscapes. Condition: Examined under UV and LED lights. In overall very good condition with a multitude of textures. The large cotton wood c.r. with very fine light craquelure.
