GENE KLOSS, CA. 1925-50, INTAGLIO, “MOONLIGHT CIRCLE DANCE”. Titled and signed “Moonlight Circle Dance / Gene Kloss” in lower margin. Etching, drypoint, and aquatint on paper, plate size 8” x 10”, frame 13 1/2” x 15 1/2”. Gene Glasier was born in Oakland, CA in 1903 and studied print making at UC Berkeley where she graduated in 1924. She married the poet Phillips Kloss in 1925 and the two moved to Taos, NM where she gained widespread prominence for her meticulous process and unique portrayal of New Mexico landscapes and people. Condition: examined out of frame and appears In overall very good condition with an acute tonal range. No issues detected.
